Mel Drake is a professional Voice Coach and holds an MA in Voice Studies from The Central School of Speech and Drama.
She is a fully qualified Drama teacher and Professional Actress training at Moray House Edinburgh and Queen Margaret College respectively. She was also awarded a BA (Honours) in English and Drama by Leicester University

Mel’s work is based in the technique of Nadine George (Voice Studio International) which she has been working with since 2008 and is an accredited teacher of the technique.

Voice work since 2009 has included The Central School of Speech and Drama, The Academy of Live and Recorded Arts (A.L.R.A), Cygnet Training Theatre, Identity Drama school, Caravanserai Actor’s Studio,The Centre (Rochester), CPA Studios (Romford), W.H.A.L.E Arts Centre, King’s College London, King Street College Shepherd’s Bush, The London School of English, Midlands Academy of Dance and Drama, Edinburgh Lyceum Youth Theatre and the Millennium Dance Centre.

Mel returned to Glasgow in 2011 and is currently a Voice Lecturer in The Centre for Voice in Performance at The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, she also continues to work in London and with a wide range of private clients.
Recent production work has included Under Milk Wood Tron Theatre (Gareth Nicholls) Sheep Tron Theatre (Martin O'Connor) Emancipation Acts Glasgow Life/Merchant City (Alan McKendrick) I Promise I Shall Not Play Billiards Tightlaced Theatre (Jen McGregor) Touched Cygnet Training Theatre (Amanda Knott) and The Year of the Pig CSSD (Gary Sefton)

Mel has directed over thirty productions for schools and youth groups as well as running Act 1 Sing 2, her own Youth Theatre Group.
As an actress Mel has worked in Theatre, TV and Film.
